Academic structure in brief
ZJU teaching spans 13 discipline categories (philosophy through interdisciplinary fields). Schools are grouped under seven faculties: Humanities; Social Sciences; Science; Engineering; Information; Agriculture, Life and Environment; and Medicine/Pharmacy. Exact college names and majors change over time—always open the current international catalogue rather than copying an older major list.
Degree lengths (typical)
- Undergraduate: usually 4–6 academic years; Chinese-taught by default, with selected English-taught options.
- Master’s: usually 2–3 years.
- Doctoral: usually 3–4 years.
- Chinese language & culture / short programmes: non-degree routes with separate guides.
International-facing pathways applicants often explore
- Haining International Campus institutes — collaborative engineering and biomedical pathways (for example ZJU–UIUC and ZJU–Edinburgh related offerings). Confirm award structure on each institute site.
- Featured programmes highlighted on the admissions portal (examples historically include China Studies / MCS, MBBS and selected English-taught majors). Featured marketing pages are not the same as the formal catalogue.
- Ocean College (Zhoushan) — marine and ocean-related graduate options, sometimes with dedicated scholarship routes.

- For graduate study, do you need a supervisor provisional acceptance form?
